Assassins creed - Back Home by mkozmon Assassins creed - Back Home by mkozmon
Name of this picture is a little bit ironic, based on the events that happened on that place years ago. Florence is not Ezio's home anymore, but after he became an assassin, he returned to this place to remeber what he is fighting for...

After completing Assassin's Creed 2 (which I think is maybe the best game I ever played) and while waiting for PC version of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, I decided to create a fan art of Ezio Auditore (which is certainly and undoubtedly the best and coolest character design ever made for a video game in history )

Since nothing is true and everything is permitted, I took simple, though still very cool Altair's pose from AC Artbook as reference and made quite a lot of changes and customizations in the process to be satisfied with the outcome.

I like the renaissance look and level of detail of original design so I wanted to capture every single belt clip and ornamental curve. Still I made some changes for the sake of this picture - for example the custom sword, the Apple of Eden is on the right side altough normaly is on the left under Ezio's cape, throwing knives are from game menu, not from model and hidden blade is partially taken from Giovanni's blade from AC:Lineage.

And I really wanted to draw Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence, which I never saw for real, but I would really love to.

Hi, thank you :)
it's a regular office black ballpoint pen (BIC, that orange hexagonal) after pencil sketch. I like it because of details that you can achieve with it and it is stable. But this technique is really time-consuming and there is a high chance that you start hating the picture before it's finished. I'm not using it for some time, because I'm trying to learn something new now.

how in gods name did you get all this detail in?

i like the understatement of the title: for some reason i find it ironic in the light of the art itself

thank you :) it needs a bit more patience and time
what exactly do you mean by "ironic in the light of the art itself" ?
It is difficult for me to explain the idea by words in Slovak language, even more in English, so I hope the picture explains itself :D ... After all this time, only thing that Ezio feels there, are not childhood memories but anger and desire for justice... something like that :) In the Brotherhood, Ezio is older and more "inner balanced", so this is dated somewhere between AC2 and Brotherhood.

"back home" is a very simple title for the rich picture you've got.

Ezio in Rome is so downright: I gotta get this done and Cesare out. I won't stop till I do it.

Oh, now I understand :) I wanted that the name would not be unnecessarily pathetic at the expense of the picture itself.

Yes, you're right. In the end I felt, when he finally confront Borgias, that this is not revenge for a family, no hard feelings ... just determination to end this. Like... I have to do this, it's my business.

Btw. I see you have amount of stories dedicated to Assassins Creed in your gallery. So it seems that you are better with describing feelings by words :) I sure hope I will find the time to read something from you.

No, it is not so much about being good with words as being OBSESSED with these Assassin dudes: Altair hit me like a hammer out of the blue. I'd never seen anything like him before.
